The Victoria Secret fashion show last night was awesome. Hands down (and not in my pants) the best hour of television I have seen in a while. Is Love Pink a VS brand? Was Maroon 5 really boring? Was John Mayer at the show?

I thought to myself, what do they have to do to get in shape? And then I found this NY Mag article (via @SarahFit), which talks about Adriana Lima getting fit with boxing, jump roping, and weight-lifting—twice a day, for three weeks leading up to the show. That’s more exercise than I get.

Oh, but just wait, then the article goes on to quote Sophia Neophitou, the British fashion editor who is chief stylist for this year’s show. “It’s like they’re training for a marathon,”   tell    us    more,    Sophia, “Adriana works really hard at it. It’s the same as if you were a long-distance runner. They are athletes in this environment—it’s harder to be a Victoria’s Secret model because no one can just chuck an outfit on you, and hide your lumps and bumps.”

I agree that training must be really tough to be a Victoria Secret Angel in last night’s fashion show, but my training for a marathon consists of a lot of carbs—beer and pasta—and letting my lumps and bumps and bruises and awful smell during a 16 mile run be known. So it’s not quite the same. From a lot of the show last night, it seems to me that they are pretty good athletes. Especially Adriana. When her career winds down, will she train for a marathon? I hope there could be a spot for her on the DFMC team in 2015.

Anyways, I don’t get what all the rage is about on the comments of that article.

If I get bored of long-distance running, I know I won’t go into modelling. Boxing, perhaps.
