Building my playlists
The songs, artists, and beats have been mostly the same for a long time. My running playlists evolved from Kweli, Mos Def, Mase, Notorious to Lil Wayne, Drake, Rick Ross, Kanye, Jay Z. Sometimes I’ll switch up the music and listen to Kings of Leon, Killers, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers. But, if I want to ball hard on my run, and I need the extra boost from the beats, than I need Run This Town, John, and Hero.
I’m always trying to find new songs to add to my running playlists. I’ve been listening to Watch The Throne and I have added a few songs. I thought there would be some songs from Drake’s new CD but Headlines is the only song that might make a running mix. Big Sean has also made my playlist.
The one song, that I really find can make me run faster, is Dog Days Are Over. I don’t know if it is because of the lyrics, or the beat, or that it is just different from most of the songs I listen to when I’m running.
Since I’ve talked about the songs that I will listen to running, I also know that there are some songs that I would never listen to when I’m running. Any Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, LMFAO, Maroon 5, Adele, or Hall & Oates would never make a running playlist.
